Building Dignity is a nonprofit organization (as well as an Omprakash Partner organization) that works with the community of Lomo de Corvina in the city of Lima, Peru via The Center for Development with Dignity. Formerly a shanty town, Lomo de Corvina has faced many challenges, particularly with respect to infrastructure. Building Dignity’s mission is to “enhance educational opportunities, train local leaders, and support neighborhood-led development in marginalized communities.”
During my time with Building Dignity, I will be focusing my time on their education, youth leadership and music programs. I am currently teaching music classes twice a week, all of which which focus on guitar, cajón, music theory and rhythm.
